Accessibility

Built for every customer

A TapStar card is only useful if everyone who taps it can use the page that opens. So we design our website and every customer landing page to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What that means in practice

  • Screen readers: every button, image and form field has a clear label, and pages use proper headings and landmarks so VoiceOver (iPhone) and TalkBack (Android) users can find their way.
  • Keyboard and switch access: everything can be reached and used without a touchscreen or mouse, with a clearly visible focus outline that is never hidden behind sticky bars.
  • Low vision: text and buttons meet contrast requirements, pages work when zoomed to 200% and beyond, and layouts reflow on small screens without sideways scrolling.
  • Large tap targets: buttons on customer pages are big and well spaced, which also helps anyone using a phone one-handed at a busy counter.
  • Motion: moving content can be paused, and animations are reduced when your phone's "reduce motion" setting is on.
  • No app, no account: customers don't need to install, register or remember anything to leave a review, save a contact or message a business.
  • Two ways in: NFC for a tap, and a printed QR code for phones without NFC.

How we check

We test pages with automated WCAG 2.2 checks on mobile and desktop, and by hand with a keyboard and phone screen readers. Automated tools can't catch everything, so we keep reviewing pages as we add features.
